Both 7th and 8th graders have Book Reports due on December 10th!
They have to pick one of the following topics to write about. They MAY NOT just write a summary of the book.
Topic 1- Write about how you learned about the main character’s personality through their actions in the book.
Topic 2- Write about three conflicts the main character faced during the book.
Topic 3- Write about a theme that developed during the book and the events that clarify this theme.
Ms. Hughes has been showing students example essays in class, and would be happy to set up appointments with students (before school, lunch, or after school) to help them plan out their 5 paragraph essay.

WLMS hosted a Twilight Party where students were able to celebrate their love of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. The party was held on the same day that the new movie New Moon came out in movie theaters.
The party was right after school from 3-5pm. We watched the movie trailers, played Jeopardy, and had Twilight themed snacks (including fruit punch that acted like blood!). There were lifesize cardboard cutouts of the actors so students could have their picture taken with a “Twilight star.” At the end of the party, doorprizes were given out, including: posters, a calendar, a boardgame, a copy of the book New Moon, and a charm bracelet.
Below are pictures of me with two Twilight stars and the bookmarks that were given away as party favors! (Ms. Hughes designed and created the bookmarks on the Mac software ComicLife!)

Ms. Hughes is seen here with Twilight stars, Edward and Jacob.

The bookmarks students went home with.
